I have been a part of the theatre community for over 40 years, working on many levels of production- from small local shows to large Broadway tours. My roles have included Stage Manager, Technical Director, Lighting Designer, Set Designer, Head Electrician, Scenic Carpenter, etc.

Across my decades of experience, it is not producing at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the Denver Center Theatre, or the Joyce Theater that have fueled me. It is not being able to claim collaboration with Cleo Parker Robinson, Talley Beatty, or Katherine Dunham. Rather, it has been achieving true partnerships working  alongside Maureen Breeze, Hannah Kahn, and Donald McKayle. It is in bringing together the collective visions, voices, and abilities into creative collaboration. There is a joy in the telling, a joy in the shared creation, a joy in the expressing, a joy in the experience. This is what I return to as the fuel for my work with other artists in this endeavor we know as theater.

"show me,

even against my will,

how to undo myself,

how surpass myself:

how to find

away

to die

of g e n e r o s i t y"
